Our journey starts here...

step 1.

get to know me

Take a quiet wander through my website or Instagram.

Notice how the work feels, not just how it looks. This is the best way to sense whether my storytelling feels like home to you - soft, honest, and rooted in the everyday.

step 2.

reach out

When you reach out, share what matters to you and the season you’re in. I’ll reply with my availability and the investment guide, and from there we’ll move gently into planning - no rush, no pressure.

step 3.

beginning the details together

Once your date is confirmed, I’ll send a simple contract and a short questionnaire to learn about your rhythms, your home, and what matters most to you. From there, we’ll shape the session together - location, timing, and anything meaningful. Think of this as the part where the story starts to take form.

step 4.

the day we photograph

This is where we slow down. We meet, settle, breathe, and let the moments come to us. No stiff posing - just gentle direction if needed and space for real life to unfold. We’ll lean into whatever the day brings, kindly and without rush.

Step 5.

gallery delivery

4 - 6 weeks later, your gallery arrives - beautifully edited, thoughtfully curated, and ready to keep. Not just pictures, but memories. A little time machine back to the way it felt.

More about our time together

What to expect when we work together

Sessions are calm, unhurried, and rooted in real life.

This isn’t about perfect moments - it’s about creating space for what already exists.

I work in a documentary, connection-led way - quietly observing, guiding gently when needed,

and allowing moments to unfold naturally.

How sessions work (my role)

I won’t guide you through poses or ask you to move through a checklist.

Instead, I shape the space - light, timing, and flow - and then step back.

If something needs a little guidance, I’ll step in softly. Otherwise, I leave room for you to move through the time together in your own way.

Before we meet (how we prepare)

Before we meet, we’ll spend a little time talking and planning together.

Not to map out every detail - just to have something to hold onto when we arrive.

A moment, a rhythm, or a small part of your everyday life that feels familiar and true to you.

That might look like eating Oatees on the kitchen floor for breakfast, crumbed faces and all. Wrapping your kiddie in a dinosaur towel after bath time. Walking somewhere that already feels special, tiny hands held without thinking.

It doesn’t need to be big. It just needs to be yours.

Arriving with this gentle intention helps the session feel grounded and unforced. It gives us a place to begin, and then we let the rest unfold naturally.

In the session together (your role)

On the day, you don’t need to entertain your children or create moments for me.

Your role is simply to be with one another – to slow down, to connect, and to let yourself be where you are.

I’ll guide the space softly when needed, then step back and quietly document what takes shape.

The more you lean into being together, the more honest the photographs become.

Frequently asked questions answered.

You have questions? I have answers!

How do I book a Session?

(01)

You’re welcome to reach out directly or book through my online booking page - whatever feels easiest for you. Weekend dates tend to go quickly, so if you’re hoping for a Saturday or Sunday, getting in touch about 2 months ahead is usually best.
Once we find a date that feels right, I’ll lock it in for you and the 50% booking payment will secure your session. The remaining balance is due a week before our time together. Payment plans are available if you prefer something gentler.

How does payment work?

(02)

I’ll send your invoice along with the other admin pieces. To secure your date, a 50% payment is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due one week before your session, so everything is taken care of ahead of time and you can arrive feeling relaxed and present.

Where do the sessions take place?

(03)

I personally love doing in home sessions. What an honour to be invited into your space that you call home and get to capture you, just as you are.

However I also do location shoots and can send you a location guide you can have a squiz at, or I am also happy for you to suggest a particular location if you have something specific in mind.

Do you travel for Sessions?

(04)

I live in Craighall Park, Johannesburg and I'm happy to book sessions up to an hour from my home. Please contact me if you'd like to book an out of area shoot for details. 40km (round trip) from my home is included thereafter mileage is charged at R4.5/km.

Who can attend the session?

(05)

All of your immediate family are welcome to attend all of my sessions. If you would like additional family members just get in touch and we can adjust the package to include the extra bodies.

What time of the day is best?

(06)

I usually book in home sessions at around 07:30am onwards (however this is really depends on when the light is best in your home) and outdoor sessions at either sunrise or sunset but this is extremely flexible and I'm happy to work with you.

Is there a best time for maternity and newborn photos?

(07)

I generally book maternity sessions for anytime between 28 - 35 weeks and newborn sessions from 7 days onwards. For that very new-baby, sleepy look you will want to have the shoot booked for when baby is around 7 - 14 days new. I do however photograph babies of all ages.

When will I receive my gallery?

(08)

You will receive your digital gallery to view 4 - 6 weeks from your session date.

What if I'm nervous?

(09)

There’s no need for perfect poses, perfect weather, perfect outfits, or a perfect location to capture the perfect memory. It’s about a snapshot in time, those photos that allow you to hold a feeling in your hands, and I will be right there to help guide you. Please reach out at any time if you need a little extra care.
